On 28th June 2025, Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, proudly hosted Esperanza’25, an inter-school band show celebrating music, talent, and unity. The event took place at the Hillwood College Auditorium and brought together neighboring school bands from the region.

The evening featured outstanding performances by bands from Girls’ High School – Kandy, Pushpadana Girls’ College – Kandy, St. Thomas’ Girls’ College – Matale, Hillwood College – Kandy, and St. Anthony’s Boys’ College – Katugastota. The program also included a nostalgic performance by former band members, which resonated deeply with the audience.

Inspiring speeches were delivered by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Nilanka Abeywardena, Director of Aesthetic Education, Provincial Department of Education, Kandy, and the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Sonaliya De Saa, a distinguished past pupil and former band leader (2007–2008).

Esperanza’25 was a memorable celebration of musical talent, tradition, and the unifying power of music, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
