Teachers’ Day Celebrations 2024

“The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery” – Mark Van Doren.

The Teachers’ Day, honouring the dedication and hard work of our incredible educators was celebrated on the 4th of October 2024 at Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, showing gratitude for the profound impact our teachers have had on the lives of the students.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sagara Jayamanna, the Superior of the Blessed Sacrament Fathers Scholasticate, Ampitiya, Kandy, with a meaningful homily on how teachers influence the lives of their students. This was followed by an impactful programme organized by the Prefects’ Body of the school, showing their deep appreciation for the guidance and support of the teachers, on behalf of all the students being educated in the school.

The celebration concluded with a gathering of the teachers by the end of the day, enjoying the festivities, and strengthening the bonds amongst them. The day was a beautiful reminder of the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of the young Shepherdians, and the school community’s gratitude for their efforts.
