The Annual Prize Giving of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, a momentous occasion, celebrating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of the students over the academic years of 2022/2023, was held on the 27th of September 2024.

Rev. Fr. Quintus Fernando, Rector of the National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka, Ampitiya, Kandy, honoured the occasion as the Chief Guest. His presence added a significant depth to the event, inspiring students and attendees alike with his insights and encouragement.

The ceremony commenced with a grand parade of the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Quintus Fernando, Rev. Fr. Milroy Fonseka, Procurator General and Manager of Catholic Private Schools (CP), Rev. Fr. Sudath Perera, the Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Cathedral, Kandy, Rev. Fathers, Rev. Sr. Siriyapushpam, the Sector Coordinator, Rev. Sr. Lucina Ekanayake, the Community Leader, Rev. Sr. Jeewani Martinus, the Community Coordinator, Rev. Sisters, Mrs. D.C.I Andarage, the Zonal Director of Education, distinguished guests, and teachers.

Rev. Sr. Principal welcomed the gathering and the Annual School Report was presented. This was followed by the distribution of certificates and trophies to the students, celebrating a diverse array of accomplishments across various disciplines; from academic excellence to exceptional contributions in sports, arts and other extra-curricular activities.

Students who were accepted into state universities were recognized with special awards during the event, acknowledging their exceptional achievements and dedications. The event also featured a variety of entertainment including vibrant dance displays, melodious singing of an array of songs, and a lively display by the Western Band.

It was a day that not only celebrated the past achievements but also inspired the school community to look forward to another year of growth and success.
