The English Literary Association of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy embarked on a journey through time as they celebrated the richness and diversity of the English Language, “Timeless Tales”, the English Day on the 6th of September 2024 in the school main hall.

Miss. Imesha Athukorale, a distinguished past pupil of the school, who is presently involved in professional theatre productions, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The day’s celebrations commenced with the choral recitation, “The Seven Ages of Man”, one of William Shakespeare’s most renowned works, and featured extracts from celebrated orations, a vibrant dance performance, a skit “Echoes Through Time” and the harmonious singing of a medley of songs from different eras of time.

The highlight of the day were the two dramas, “The Dear Departed”, performed by the Juniors and the Senior Drama, “Shakespeare’s Ladies Meet”, an adaptation from Shakespeare’s many plays, rewritten with many twists and surmises by Mrs. Rita Jayatilleke, a dedicated past teacher of the school.
