The 1st of October 2024 was indeed a day of joy and festivity for all students as the Universal Children’s Day was commemorated with various activities in school.

The day commenced with the Holy Eucharistic celebration by Rev. Fr. Lakmal Perera, Rector, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Poornawatta who delivered a homily, highlighting the Gospel passage from St. Matthew, Chapter 19, Verses 13 to 15, reflecting Jesus’ deep love and respect for children.

The Holy Mass was followed by workshops conducted by Mr. Samitha Dunukepotha (Deputy Director / Chief Secretariat – Central Provincial Council) for the students of the Sinhala Medium and Mr. Sangarapillai Priyasaravanan, Mr. Rasaraththinam Thaneshkumar and Ms. Ketharani Indrarasa (Bharatanatyam Practitioners and Performers) for the students of the Tamil Medium.

Sweet treats were also presented to all the children by the school, celebrating the festivities. The commemoration of the Children’s Day served as a reminder of the joy of childhood and the importance of creating a nurturing environment for our students.
