THE 25TH SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS OF THE TEACHERS

The 25th Silver Jubilee celebrations of the teachers; Mrs. Suneetha Perera, Mr. A. Collin, Mr. K. Kirupalamoorthy, Mrs. J. Malkanthi De Silva, Mrs. Yogeshwary Selliah, Mrs. Mary Alles and Mrs. D. Keshika Wilathgamuwa of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy were held on the 8th of March 2017.

A thanks giving Holy Mass was offered at the chapel by Very Rev. Fr. Milroy Fonseka, the Vicar General and Manager of Catholic Schools of Kandy Diocese.

A felicitation ceremony was held at the main hall for the dedicated service of the teachers, to emphasize the fact that a teacher is not just a teacher who works just for the name’s sake, but a person who handles a noble vocation. A teacher’s role in the life of students is immeasurable, she/he can be considered as a lamp which diffuses light, dispelling the darkness around, so, too, a teacher is meant to diffuse knowledge and moral values, dispelling the darkness of ignorance and doubt.
