"SVIJEST 2017" (Awareness)

"United we stand together"

The annual Science, Commerce and IT day Celebrations define crucial events in the Sri Lankan School Calendar. For the 1st time in the Shepherdian Calendar, all three steams allied together on 06th of June at the Main Hall under "SVIJEST 2017" to make a diffusion in ideas and technology. Students from grade 6-13 participated in the programme.

Dr. Ayodhya Malalagama, Consultant Psychiatrist, Base Hospital, Mahiyanganaya graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Her speech on teenage psychology was a piece of advice for our blossoming youngsters. Ms. Maheeshika Rupasingha (Asst. Director of Education, Social Science and Literary), Ms. Evanjalee Silva an under graduate of I.T.M., faculty of Moratuwa University were among the guests of honour.

The event was highlighted with the launching of the new application by Ms. Envajalee Silva a distinguished past pupil of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy. The day commenced with attractive items showcasing the talents of students. "SVIJEST 2017", was a success which imparted the message for students to be attentive and to be aware on possibilities that these three streams could promote in uplifting and motivating fresh young minds towards innovative fields, that surpass the laws of nature, to build a firmer future.
