The Tamil cultural day was held on the 28th of June 2018 at the school main hall.

Professor V. Maheswaran, Professor of Tamil, Department of Tamil, University of Peradeniya graced the occasion as the chef guest.

Very Rev. Fr. Milroy Fonseka, the Vicar General and Manager of Catholic Schools of Kandy Diocese was present at the guest of honour.

Rev. Fr. Soosainathan – The Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Katugastota, very Rev.Fr. Bala Rajendram – Episcopal vicar, Rev. Fr. Christy Paul – Parish Priest of St. Paul the Hermit, Digana, Rev. Fr. Camillus Jansz – Director, Diocesan Catechetical and Biblical Apostolate, Rev. Fr. Stephen, Sisters from the Welcome House and Mahaiyawa Convent, were among the special invitees.

The day’s events began with the thematic background ‘Humanity’, which was presented in the form of poetry, song, dance and drama. The welcome dance “Pushpanjali”, was performed in a different and unique way depicting harmony. The theme “humanity” blended into the colourful and vibrant events of the day. A skit on women empowerment, highlighting discrimination was performed by grade 13 students.

An effective speech on the importance of the Tamil language and humanity was delivered by the chief guest. “Kalarthana” the Tamil magazine was launched by the chief guest.
